The Election Watch Poll
Each time you purchase an Election Watch you are registering your opinion in a most sacred of American ways – with your hard earned cash. Just how closely do sales of watches parallel those other high fallutin campaign polls?

In the real world (as real as pollsters get) it’s neck and neck. The Gallup Poll is still showing the candidates in a near dead heat, with Obama at 45% and McCain at 42%; CBS News has McCain at 39% and Obama at 45%. ABC News has Obama with 49% of the vote and McCain with 46%. No matter who’s calling the shots, Obama has a fragile lead. Here at the ElectionWatch poll we’re holding steady. Obama continues to have a greater lead in watch sales (63%); McCain is inching up. Conclusions? With a few weeks of data under our belts, it’s looking like the web reality and the real world reality are skewed a bit differently. It’s still an Obama-centric web., So keep buying watches and keep the data flowing. Remember: if you’ve got a guess as to what happens next week write us at robin@wavingwatches.com. We'll give you a shout out in the next analysis.
Students of history and e-commerce will enjoy contrasting this year’s Web 2.0 crazed election season with 2004’s watch sales. Want to see the month-by-month Electionwatch polls from 2004? Click here to relive the glory days of the Bush-Kerry race http://www.electionwatches.com/poll2004.html
